5 Tips for Staying Safe During the Coronavirus

With the on-going spread of awareness and concern regarding Covid-19 (Coronavirus), we thought it would be important to go over some of the basics of how to keep yourself and your family safe. So we have racked our brains and come up with 5 tips for staying safe during the coronavirus, check them out below.

Stay Home

To many of us, this sort of seems like the ONLY option, however, to others they may feel like, ‘What’s the big deal?’ Well, to put it bluntly, everyone isn’t concerned with you as an individual getting sick (Don’t get us wrong, we don’t want anyone to get sick), but rather, the amount of people you could potentially infect if you were to contribute to spreading the virus. That is why it is very important to stay home as much as possible, and if you must go out for food, or other necessities, make sure you are clean and take all proper steps to remain as germ free as possible during your little adventure.

Be Careful What You Touch

When we say be careful what you touch we don’t always mean the shopping cart at your local grocery store or the buttons on an ATM machine. We are actually referring to those and many many more things, such as touching your eyes or mouth for example. In general, you want to make sure your hands are clean before putting them anywhere near your eyes or mouth, however now it is especially true to pay close attention to important safety precautions. Always wash your hands before touching your eyes or mouth, and of course, when at a local establishment that may be touched by many other people it would be a good idea to immediately wash your hands and possibly wash whatever it is you’ll be touching before touching it.

Time for Double-Time Cleaning

Well, unfortunately, unless you are essential when it comes to your job description, you are most likely stuck at home where you and your family get the opportunity to spread your germs throughout your home at a much larger rate than before. That is why during this time of concern it is very important to keep areas in your home as clean as possible to prevent spread of any germs, not only the coronavirus. Work together as a team and assign daily tasks and tackle them as a family, no doubt this will be an experience that can bring everyone closer together even if the tasks aren’t always preferred ones.

Keep Your Distance

We’ve all heard the phrase “social distancing” over and over and over, so by this point I think we understand to keep our distance from others to avoid contracting unwanted germs. However, sometimes keeping our distance can also mean from objects that may be touched by lots and lots of other individuals. So keep that in mind next time you use the handrail to walk down a flight of stairs in a public setting. Remember to wipe your hands off, or avoid it all together.

Pay Attention and Seek Help When Necessary

One of the most important tips we can provide with you about the coronavirus outbreak is to keep yourself aware of what is happening in the world and in your local area. If you come to find out more and more in your area are becoming infected or showing signs of having the virus, show extra caution if you are leaving your home. Also watch your family members closely for signs of fever or congestion, keep tabs on any new symptoms or happenings whenever possible, and always remember to love one another, not only during these trying times
